For the love of vegetables, can someone please explain to me why it is that I begin hiccuping profusely the moment a baby carrot enters my mouth?
And for the love of my sanity, why can’t I remember this every day before snack time?
I just had a major hiccup attack when I had my daily dosage of beta carotene. Like, so bad that everyone in the office could hear my loud gasps for breath and began to look at me as if something were not right. I tried all the tricks in the book… downing a gallon of water, holding my breath until I passed out, not holding my breath until I passed out, taking hundreds of baby breaths like a panting dog, scaring myself… but, nothing would give. I know this because it’s been almost half and hour and I STILL HAVE THEM!!! What am I to do?!?
Baby carrots are one of my favorite snacks. I’m semi surprised my skin isn’t more orange than it is. I love the healthfulness of them, their crunch and of course, the pairing of them with my beloved peanut butter. And I also love the fact that I have 20/20 vision. But, I do not appreciate the baby heart attacks I get when I eat them. Maybe it’s the fact that they are cold? I don’t get it. I also know that whenever I have a Diet Sprite, I get the hiccups, too. Is there a rhyme or reason to this? Or am I just a freak of nature? Actually you don’t have to answer that one…
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I love Bruce Springsteen.

He totally rocked the halftime show of the game tonight. I’m especially happy because he did B2R. Which is probably my most favorite song ever. When I die, I’d like to have “Born To Run” played at my memorial service, as well as have my ashes scattered over the grounds of Graceland.
Bruce is coming to Austin and Houston in April and I am determined to see at least one of the shows. I’m even willing to take off work to make it happen. I’m so energized right now by his performance that I’m even going to consider going to Boston, New Jersey or Europe to see him. How amazing would that be? Don’t put it past me… Mom and I travelled to Chicago last year to catch one of his shows. Worth every dime.
